Carter Backer Winter LLP (CBW), London accountants, Tax and Business Advisers, has acquired Edwards Financial Services Ltd for an undisclosed sum. The Edwards Team has moved across to the firm, with long-standing Edwards Director Chris Clayton being admitted as Partner of CBW.
Harrow-based Edwards was formed in 1986, offering its clients professional advice on life insurance, investments, pension and retirement planning. Its extensive customer base comprises 300 individuals as well as some 20 SME company schemes. Assets under management surpassed £50m, for the year ending 2015-2016.
Chris, who is a CII Chartered Financial Planner and Director of Financial Planning at CBW, commented: “Edwards was growing as a firm and we wanted to take the next big step. This involved a number of options, but we liked CBW because it shared our values, core ideas and provides a personal, high quality service just as we do. Our clients are all on board with the move.”
Peter Winter, Managing Partner, CBW, said: “We are delighted to secure the services of Chris and his experienced team, who have been at Edwards for close to three decades. We welcome their wealth of experience, knowledge and technical skills to our firm. They are the right fit for our highly client-focused team.
He added: “The Edwards client base will be offered a broader range of services under the CBW umbrella.”
Chris Clayton, Director of Financial Planning and Partner, CBW, added: “The team and I are incredibly excited to be joining the Financial Planning Department at CBW. We are totally committed to the future of the new, enlarged financial planning operation at CBW.”
