CBW named 2011 UK Mid Tier Firm of the Year at The British Accountancy Awards
On 30 November at Old Billingsgate Market in London , CBW was named as the 2011 UK mid tier accounting firm of the year.
The new British Accountancy Awards (which succeed the long-standing Accountancy Age Awards) and follow a robust review involving some of the most respected members of the profession convened as a specialist advisory panel.
These new awards have more rigorous criteria and greater focus on the key issues underpinning practice and professional development. They reward outstanding performance and innovation across the sector, from small local firms to the larger regional, national and global players.

The Award is the only one of its kind where the winner is actually chosen by a panel of fellow accountants.
Judges said, "Carter Backer Winter is distinguished by bringing success to its clients. It maintains a client-centred approach, while offering the expertise of a larger firm. The firm has demonstrated that it is an outstanding example of all the staff contributing to a more successful, more enjoyable, more rewarding and more profitable business."
Peter Winter, CBW's Managing Partner said:
“I am delighted and proud that CBW has won this prestigious award. It is a reflection of how much the firm has developed over the last couple of years despite the current economic climate. All of our progress is down to the hard work, dedication and creativity of CBW’s fabulous staff and Partners.
But this award marks just one of the milestones in our journey towards achieving our shared vision of becoming a truly inspirational business – one which is stronger, more sustainable and tightly focussed on delivering delight to clients, staff, stakeholders and the broader community in which we work.
Despite winning this award we will not be complacent. Our plans for 2012 are to continue to grow our top and bottom lines whilst also developing our staff, improving our service to our loyal clients and working more closely with our referral network and CBW’s community. 2012 is going to be a big year for us.”
