John, a Chartered Accountant, has been a full time Licensed Insolvency Practitioner for over 35 years. His wise counsel and expertise in preserving value is sought by businesses and individuals in financial difficulties and their advisors. His practical approach results in the avoidance of formal insolvency proceedings where possible or, at least, the opportunity for debtors to rebuild their lives and businesses with the minimum of fuss.
A regular on the lecture circuit, John is often quoted on insolvency issues and has appeared on television, radio and in the press.
John has been called upon to be an expert witness in Court cases requiring his expertise as an Insolvency Practitioner.
John has also been active in the IPA and, since its inception, R3, on whose Council he served for many years. He has been Chairman of their London Region, PR and Publications, and Membership committees.
He was Vice Chairman of the ICAEW’s Review Board which reconsiders the decisions of the Institute’s Disciplinary Committees.
Formerly the National Director of Corporate Recovery and Insolvency at PKF and previously a partner at KPMG in the same field, John has been head of CBW Corporate Recovery and Insolvency team since 2002.
