Carter Backer Winter has appointed a UHY Hacker Young partner to head up a new corporate finance department at the mid-tier firm
Odhran Dodd has 16 years of experience in investment banking, having completed over 60 deals in a wide variety of sectors from recruitment, manufacturing, financial services, transportation, oil and gas, mining and renewables. He was previously a partner at UHY and before that at Littlejohn Advisors. Speaking to economia, Dodd said there were no specific plans around growth for the new division because he was keen to keep flexibility to respond to the market and clients as needed. “At the moment we are establishing the brand and letting the market know that CBW is now a full service player.” Peter Winter, managing partner at CBW, said, “Odhran’s experience, connections and skills will make a significant contribution to CBW. He will play an important role in the lives of clients who are looking to engage in any business disposals or M&A activity. We have long wanted to establish an in-house corporate finance department and so are delighted to have someone of Odhran’s calibre joining us. With this department, CBW can now provide its clients with a complete service offering. “His hands-on approach to tailoring every deal means he will fit in with CBW’s philosophy of working closely with clients to help them achieve their goals and visions.” In 2013, CBW embarked on two mergers, joining with outsourced accounting firm Direct Control to create CBW Dynamic Accounting, followed by a merger with tax specialist firm Blackstone Franks.
