At CBW, we fully recognise that our people contribute to the success of the firm and as such we actively encourage continual professional development. We are committed to the development of our staff, both professionally and personally. Employees are responsible for their own development but have the reassurance of knowing that their managers will champion them.
CBW has supported staff members in gaining essential qualifications directly related to their chosen career path whether accountancy related or not. Our support has been in the form of financial contribution towards course and examination costs, the allocation of study days and paying annual subscription fees for membership to professional bodies. Here are just a few examples of qualifications that CBW has sponsored staff to undertake:
- Joint Insolvency Examination Board (JIEB)
- Chartered Institute of Taxation (CTA)
- Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD)
- Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
This is in addition to our successful ACA and AAT graduate schemes.
We appreciate that qualifications are not the only route to professional development. Every year employees are asked to complete a Career Development Plan as part of the appraisal process. The plans provide an opportune time for employees and line managers to discuss alternative development options such as attendance at relevant conferences, taking part in specific projects, training courses and working within another team. Sharing knowledge and skills across the organisation is promoted.
Our clients come from a variety of sectors such as: entertainment, technology, charity and retail making the scope of our work both interesting and challenging. The value we place on our staff has allowed us to benefit from a high staff retention rate something of which we are extremely proud.
