Carter Backer Winter LLP (CBW) and Logistics UK, in conjunction with the leading independent logistics research firm Analytiqa, have undertaken an interim survey of companies’ expectations for merger and acquisition (M&A) activity, following the launch of the Logistics Sector M&A Index in September 2020.
Our interim survey, which draws on the insight of senior executives within logistics companies in the UK, provides a view on expected trends in M&A, including valuations, as well as highlighting some of the most important issues facing companies in the sector in light of Covid-19 and Brexit.
We believe that the results show a significant increase in appetite for M&A activity, and a more optimistic outlook for the sector in the context of the impact of Brexit, continuing uncertainty around the effects of Covid-19 and challenges facing the global economy. We expect to see further consolidation in the sector over the next 12 months.
