Ian is an experienced Chartered Financial Planner who joined CBW in 2020.
Ian has a wealth of experience in financial planning, having joining the profession in 2008 and worked for a large bank, an asset manager and a mid-sized independent financial planning firm. During that time, he has advised on all aspects of personal finance and has even designed some of the advice processes that are still in use at former firms.
Throughout his career, Ian has focused on distinct areas of planning, namely pensions – including defined benefit schemes, SSAS arrangements and overseas pensions – inheritance tax planning and wealth management. While these are areas of specialism, Ian is also a generalist, assisting with all aspects of personal and corporate financial planning.
Ian is technical by nature and enjoys presenting on financial planning subjects to both private individuals and professionals, pitching the level of complexity to the experience of his audience. These have ranged from short updates on how pension interact with trusts to in-depth seminars on inheritance tax and estate planning.
