Role overview

This is a 12-month paid internship reporting to the Audit Semi-Senior/Senior. You will assist with the preparation of audit files on site for audit assignments and for accounts jobs in addition to assisting or preparing statutory and non-statutory accounts from records supplied by the client. There will be extensive on the job training with comprehensive support provided. You will have access to a wealth of knowledge from working alongside our General Practice team.

Accountancy and audit

Preparation of accounts for corporate clients, partnerships and sole traders, including:

  • Abbreviated company accounts and full company accounts, which includes discussing figures with clients and reporting any findings / variances
  • Group accounts may be required from time to time
  • Audit of small/medium sized companies and groups
  • Working with a mixture of clients in various industries
  • Meeting clients and having contact with finance team
  • Use of a number of software specialised for accounting and auditing

Miscellaneous duties

  • Working collaboratively with partners and staff to provide clients with a personal and professional service
  • Willingness to travel to client sites when necessary

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

  • Predicated to achieve a 2:1 degree having completed 2nd year in a relevant subject
  • 3 A-levels grade B or above or equivalent (300 UCAS points) to include maths
  • GCSE maths and english is essential
  • The right to work in the UK

  • Keen to pursue either ACA or ACCA qualifications after graduation and develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge
